Shams Social Media Toolkit

Shams is one AI-powered newsroom where a Story is discovered, produced, designed, clipped, published, and measured. Arabic first, with Kurdish support planned for V2. Prepared by Rolling Narratives for Prime Time Media.

Executive summary

A newsroom where the Story does the work.

The Shams TV team spends their days moving one piece of news through many disconnected tools — one to find it, one to write it, one to design it, one to cut video, one to schedule, one to measure. Shams replaces all of them with a single platform built around one idea: the Story object.

A Story enters Shams the moment a trend is detected and never leaves — its sources, scripts, captions, graphics, clips, publishing history, and performance all live on the same object, visible to every workspace and every AI agent. Journalists verify and refine instead of starting from blank pages. Editors approve from one queue. The brand stays consistent because the Brand Engine is wired into everything that generates an asset.

Shams is purpose-built in and for the region: Arabic as the primary language, right-to-left layouts throughout, and trend detection tuned to Erbil, GCC, Kurdish, and pan-Arab audiences. Full Kurdish-language support is planned for V2, once the MVP is launched and tested.

What the MVP is built to achieve

50%less production time per Story within 6 months
30%more engagement — views, shares, comments
95%compliance with editorial & brand guidelines
10+Arabic dialects, with Kurdish support planned for V2

Who it's for

Five roles, one newsroom.

Every workspace in Shams exists to serve someone real. Here's what each role needs from the platform, in their own words.

Social Media Journalist

  • As a journalist, I want to discover trending, verified stories, so that I can produce timely content relevant to my audience.
  • As a journalist, I want AI to auto-generate social posts, scripts, and assets in Arabic, so that I can focus on quality assurance instead of manual content creation. Kurdish support is planned for Phase 2, after MVP launch, based on market testing and adoption.

The spine of the system

Every Story travels one pipeline.

Six workspaces, one shared memory. Each hand-off below is automatic — the Story arrives in the next workspace already carrying everything the last one made.

  1. Discover
  2. Produce
  3. Design
  4. Clip
  5. Publish
  6. Measure
one source of truth — sources · scripts · assets · versions · guidelines · performance

The six workspaces

What your team will see.

01 — Discovery

The morning feed, already ranked.

Shams watches Arabic social, news, and trend sources around the clock. Each candidate becomes a Story Card with a viral score, verified source links, and suggested angles — ranked for the audiences Shams TV actually serves.

Full feature list

Must ship

  • Real-time Arabic trend monitoring across social, news, and trend sources
  • Story Card creation with viral score, summary, and source links
  • Relevance ranking for Erbil, GCC, Kurdish, and pan-Arab audiences

Differentiators

  • Localized dialect filters
  • Curated Erbil / GCC topic surfacing

02 — Produce

Scripts arrive pre-written. Humans make them true.

Open a Story Card and the script, captions, and headlines are already drafted in Arabic. The journalist fact-checks, adjusts the voice, and approves. Quality assurance replaces manual writing.

Full feature list

Must ship

  • AI-assisted script, caption, and headline generation in Arabic (Kurdish in V2)
  • Pre-filled Story package templates for every major platform
  • Structured editorial review interface

Differentiators

  • Voiceover generation
  • Context-aware fact-checking prompts

03 — Creative Studio

Every asset born on-brand.

Thumbnails, carousels, and infographics are generated through a live Brand Engine — Shams TV's colors, typography, and templates applied automatically. Designers refine instead of rebuilding, and every export is already in the right aspect ratio.

Full feature list

Must ship

  • Branded thumbnail and graphic generation from a live Brand Engine
  • Editable templates for thumbnails, carousels, and infographics

Differentiators

  • Automated multi-aspect-ratio exports
  • On-the-fly color and typography adjustments tied to the Brand Engine

04 — Clip Studio

One interview in. Six clips out.

Drop in long-form video and Shams finds the strongest moments, cuts them to platform length, and subtitles them in Arabic or English — packaged and ready for short-form feeds.

Full feature list

Must ship

  • Long-form video ingestion and automated clip extraction
  • Subtitle generation in Arabic and English (Kurdish in V2)

Differentiators

  • Emotion-aware clip ranking
  • Suggested hooks for short-form platforms

05 — Publish

Scheduled once. Optimized everywhere.

One click schedules the whole Story package across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube — each platform getting its own format, caption length, and hashtags, at the time each audience is actually awake.

Full feature list

Must ship

  • Cross-platform scheduling for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Per-platform optimization presets — formats, captions, hashtags

Differentiators

  • Automated best-time scheduling suggestions
  • A/B thumbnail testing pipeline

06 — Intelligence & Analytics

Every Story reports back.

Performance flows back onto the same Story object — views, shares, watch time, and how you compare against competitors. The system learns what works and feeds recommendations straight into tomorrow's production.

Full feature list

Must ship

  • Unified Story-level analytics dashboard
  • Competitor benchmarking on key metrics

Differentiators

  • Predictive virality signals
  • Recommendations surfaced directly in the Produce workspace

Platform foundations

The ground everything stands on.

Five shared systems ship inside the MVP. They're invisible to daily users — and the reason the six workspaces feel like one product instead of six.

Knowledge Graph

The central Story object connecting assets, versions, guidelines, and publishing history.

Brand Engine

Colors, typography, and templates managed once, applied everywhere assets are generated.

Collaboration layer

Comments, assignments, approval workflow, and an audit trail for editorial review.

Secure sign-in & roles

Team accounts with role-based permissions, so editors, journalists, and designers each see the right things.

Asset store & versioning

Cloud-hosted media with version control and fast worldwide delivery.

Under the hood — the technical approach
  • Application: Next.js with TypeScript, shadcn/ui components, Tailwind CSS — mobile-first, tested in both right-to-left and left-to-right layouts
  • Authentication: Clerk — accounts, sessions, roles, multi-team support
  • AI providers: OpenAI, Replicate, and ElevenLabs for language, image, video, and voice generation
  • Publishing integrations: Instagram Graph, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, Telegram
  • Hosting & delivery: Vercel with a global CDN for media assets
  • Reliability: error tracking with Sentry, 99.9%+ uptime target, autosave throughout

Phase 1 — MVP

What ships first.

The prioritized scope for a launch-ready platform. P0 is must-ship; P1 is a strong differentiator we aim to include. Content is Arabic-first for Erbil, GCC, and pan-Arab audiences — Kurdish support is planned for Phase 2, based on market testing and adoption.

Discovery workspace

Must-ship P0

  • Real-time Arabic trend monitoring
  • Story Card creation with viral score and source links

Differentiator P1

  • Localized dialect filters and curated Erbil / GCC topic surfacing

Timeline — 3 to 4 months from signing

Sixteen weeks, three phases.

Weeks 1–4

Foundation

Story engine and knowledge graph, sign-in and team roles, Brand Engine, and the design system every workspace will share.

Weeks 5–12

The six workspaces

Built in the order the Story travels — Discovery through Intelligence — with a working demo in your hands every week.

Weeks 13–16

Polish, testing & launch

Quality assurance, Arabic right-to-left testing, performance tuning, team onboarding, and launch support.

We target three months and hold the fourth as a quality buffer. You'll see progress weekly — a live demo and review every Thursday, not a reveal at the end.
